Elizabeth Dakin, LCSW
Ms. Elizabeth B. Dakin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over thirty years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples and families, and facilitating support groups. Ms. Dakin’s therapeutic approach is supportive, collaborative, educational, and solutions focused. She often uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy modality. She aims to empower clients by building on their own strengths and then giving them the information and strategies that they need to manage life’s challenges. She has a special interest in working with older adults and caregivers, and helping them to adjust to the normal physical, mental, and emotional challenges that come with age. Ms. Dakin earned her MS from Columbia University School of Social Work and her BA from the College of Wooster with a major in Music. She is licensed to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia. She is also a Certified Addictions Counselor and a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
